Body Sanctuary

My passion for holistic therapies, sound and therapeutic massage originated from a lifelong commitment to ensuring that the best possible approaches to healthcare are explored and implemented. As a practitioner working within the NHS (and in particular the Mental Health Services), over the years I have come to learn that therapeutic touch, sound and massage are (and can be) just as fundamental to the successful recovery of our  patients as many of our traditional approaches to patient care.

Massage as a therapeutic intervention has been around for centuries, and remains widely practised within Eastern cultures, considered an integral part of the practice of medicine. While massage is gaining great strength and credibility in mainstream modern healthcare, unfortunately it is still broadly unacknowledged within Mental Health Services. For many years, its efficacy has been borne out by studies, and promoted by organisations such as Mind and Help the Aged. Utilising alternative approaches to patient care to complement and enhance the overall healing experience of patients is a proven advantage, working hand in hand with conventional healthcare systems.

All my therapies are of a complementary nature and should not be substituted for medical treatment. If you have any symptoms of illness, whether acute or chronic, you should seek advice and diagnosis from your Doctor or other medical practitioner. The therapies I offer are safe and gentle, working with your body's energetic systems. Working in this way, my therapies will complement any other form of alternative or medical treatment. As a therapist, I will not diagnose or recommend any form of medical treatment.
